Her Time To Play 2021

Her Time To Play is a national initiative from the Jr. NBA and WNBA co-created with the Women's Sports Foundation for girls age 7-14 to pair on-court training with off-court life skills lessons to build confidence and prepare them for the challenges of adolescence.  This program is meant to inspire the next generation of girls to play basketball in a positive and healthy way! 

This is a completely FREE program led by female Coaches from around this area to serve as Mentors to the girls in the program. Each Coach/Mentor in our program is certified/licensed by USA Basketball. The program will take place over the course of 12 weeks starting the first week of December (specific day/time will announced soon) and will run through February.  We will meet for approximately 90 minutes each week - sessions will include going over that week's curriculum plus working on drills and playing basketball! We will have two separate groups: one group 7-10 year old girls as well as a separate group for 11-14 year old girls.  

Each participant will receive:

• T-shirt
• Headband
• Wristband
• Participant Workbook

Each week a new topic will be covered, using WNBA role models to educate girls about being physically active and avoiding health-risk behaviors.  We hope to even have some suprise guest speakers!

*asterik denotes topics that are covered ONLY by the 11-14 age group.  

PARENTS: We will be covering sensitive issues with safe discussions based off the curriculum that is provided to us.  If you do not feel comfortable with them learning a specific topic, please discuss that with a Coach!
